Lisa Fitzpatrick

Lisa has always dreamt of her own business which enables children to grow in strength, confidence, independence and fitness. Having gained a First Class Honours in Dance and Professional Practise and a Postgraduate in Post Compulsory Dance Education and Teaching Lisa now runs the dance BTEC and A Level dance course at a local college (which was awarded OUTSTANDING in 2017 by OFSTED) alongside running The Starlets and Base 3, previously Dance X. Over 2017-2019 Lisa has been invited to Greece, Sweden, Cyprus and Portugal (in short trips) alongside four other teachers to represent the UK to exchange international outstanding dance teaching in education. Lisa began in Freestyle dance and trained with a well established teacher, Donna Shepherd and has continued to gain her IDTA Freestyle Associate qualification and Licentiate gaining above 97 (out of 100) for both exams and since been invited a handful of times to lecture for the Midlands area IDTA branch as well as IDTA Freestyle Scholarships and invited to judge many competitions within the UK. Having also trained in contemporary, ballet, jazz dance styles and acrobatics, Lisa is Acrobatic Arts trained and proud that The Starlets are the first school in Solihull to offer classes in this fantastic syllabus programme. Lisa was also awarded the ADFP Young Professional of the Year 2015 and has completed her First aid training, safeguarding training, is DBS checked and fully insured.

Amber Tarry

Amber has taught since 2015. She began teaching freestyle dance and tricking and has also travelled the world for 5 months seeing many different places which has cultured and developed her as a person. She has since started teaching with Lisa together to form The Starlets and furthermore Base 3. Amber has studied gymnastics for 8 years and freestyle dance for 14 years competing in many competitions all over the UK. She has also done ballet, tap, singing and performance classes. Amber has successfully gained a Degree in Dance and Professional Practise and has also completed her IDTA Freestyle Associate qualification gaining above 96 (out of 100). Amber is also Acrobatic Arts trained, DBS checked and fully insured.

'I love teaching at the starlets. I think the attitude of the children is refreshing as our school is very much based on respect, enjoyment, having fun and learning new things. I love watching our shows and competitions as it is extremely exciting watching how everyone has progressed and grown. I will always have a love for Acrobatics and love that our dance school is one that teach it to such a high standard.'

Jodie Davies

Starlets Dance Teacher

Jodie graduated from De Montfort University in 2012 with a first-class honours degree. She then went on to receive further professional training to develop her skills and continued passion for dance in working with a well -known choreographer Jasmin Vardimon and her company dancers. As a result of this, she received her Postgraduate Certificate in Physical Theatre, in 2013. Since then, Jodie has taught at several organisations such as, De Montfort University, Moving Together creative dance company and local schools. Most recently, Jodie has been awarded her Postgraduate Certificate in Education whereby she now teaches BTEC and A level dance at a local 'Outstanding' college. Jodie has also been invited to Greece, Sweden, Cyprus and Portugal alongside four other teachers to represent the UK to exchange international outstanding dance teaching in education. Professionally, Jodie has worked with A Bang in the Void theatre company, Outspoken Dance Theatre, as well as collaborating with an independent artist exploring dance and digital art. Jodie is DBS checked.
